From the Courier Mail – Mt Mee Cemetery Gets New Lease on Life:
“A new committee was formed in 2008 and has spent about $40,000, of which only $25,000 came from grants, (the rest raised by themselves and the pre-sales of plots) to clean up the site and fence 1.2ha of the 2ha site.
Seats, a gazebo, two tanks, pumps to keep the grass watered, memorial gardens and 400-500m of concrete edging have been installed.
There is also a new war memorial honouring all branches of the Australian military.”
“Although only locals or those with strong links to the area can be buried there, others can have their ashes and/or a plaque placed in the memorial gardens.”
